December 12, 2011 (FPRC) -- The Ironman remains a firm favourite competition for competitors and spectators alike and the 2012 event will prove to be no exception.
With 900 places offered for the individual event, 300 spaces for the kids’ event and 150 slots for the Promotional Race, the 2012 Pucon Ironman promises to be the most competitive yet, drawing serious athletes from all around the world to compete in this most prestigious and internationally respected sporting event. As well as being the most popular sporting destination for twenty years, Pucon Ironman 70.3 is also the oldest organised athletic event in Chile.
Events kick off on Day One with the Promotional Race, a popular event at the Pucon Ironman Triathlon, especially for amateur athletes who are not yet ready to take part in the full race. This is then followed by the traditional Kids Challenge, which is split into six categories according to age and is followed by a Pasta Party to which all athletes are invited to attend. Day Two sees the athletes in press conferences and training and Day Three – race day – heralds the start of the Pucon Ironman 70.3 of 2012. The event closes with the Awards Ceremony in the evening.
