December 27, 2011 (FPRC) -- VIRGINIA BEACH, VA -- National Optometry, an optometry chain with locations around Virginia, is urging patients to take advantage of their 2012 Flexible Spending Accounts as soon as the New Year starts.

Patients at National Optometry can choose to use their 2012 Flexible Spending Accounts on a complete eye exam, a supply of new contacts lenses, glasses or even prescription sunglasses. National Optometry optometrists stock many different brands and types of contact lenses, meaning patients oftentimes don't need to return to pick up their lenses.

"Many FSA plans release funds at the first of the year, meaning patients can purchase new glasses and contacts before the money is actually taken out of their paycheck. If you've been waiting to get an eye exam, January is the perfect time. Start the New Year out right with excellent vision. The majority of our single vision eyeglass lenses can be created in just about an hour, and more complicated multi-focal lenses take only five to seven business days. Don't suffer through blurry vision, give National Optometry a call and let us give you the gift of clear sight," said Ken Smith of National Optometry.

National Optometry has eight locations throughout the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area. Its first location, on North Mall Drive, opened in 1985 and the location is still serving patients today. While hours can vary by location, many are open until 8 p.m. at least one night a week and on weekends, meaning patients don't have to worry about missing work or school in order to get an eye exam. Additionally, National Optometry has partnerships with a number of insurance companies, meaning patients will know upfront whether their exam, glasses or contacts will be covered.

"We know how hectic the beginning of the year can be so that's why our optometry offices are open late and on weekends. Sight is one of the most important senses and we want our patients to have the very best eyesight available. Whether you've always been a glasses or contact wearer, or you suspect that your eyesight isn't quite what it used to be, give us a call. We'll help you find your perfect prescription so you can see life clearly," said Smith.
