January 17, 2012 (FPRC) -- The entire conference is happening in the Kiellandsalen Room, which is located on the first floor of the Radisson Blu Atlantic Hotel in Stavanger, Norway. The event is designed to accommodate gas and oil companies of all value levels, which are currently working in the Arctic or are looking to do so.
This conference is attended by an international selection of participants, and is geared toward presenting points of view of the oil and gas industry on offshore Arctic projects. Attendees of this conference are shown opportunities that exist amid the harsh climates of countries such as Russia, Greenland, and Canada.
The mayor of the city of Stavanger, Christine Sagen Helgø, will start the conference programme off, and then host the selection of panel speakers. The panel of speakers includes Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s Director of Exploration Sissel Erikson, as well as the Ambassador for the Chairmanship of the Arctic Council Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Mikael Eriksson.
The topics of the conference range from discussion of the petroleum prospects available in the Arctic, to the advances in marine seismic operations, to the risks to the environment posed by the industry, as well as possible solutions. Every speaking session in this conference ends with an allocated time for question and answer period. There are also longer sessions of open discussion.
