February 2, 2012 (FPRC) -- Youth Change Professional Development Workshops announces new online classes for teachers, school counselors, principals, and other youth professionals. These professional development offerings provide specific, ready-to-use interventions for poor motivation, school violence, apathy, bad behavior, defiance, truancy, oppositional behavior, and more.
The online workshop instructor is Ruth Herman Wells, M.S. In 2011 Ms. Wells was ranked by several speaker services as one of the nation’s top ten speakers for elementary education, high school education, and motivational speakers. The online workshops are hosted by Youth Change Professional Development Workshops.
In addition to learning state-of-the-art techniques to manage at-risk, defiant, unmotivated, and angry students, the online professional development training courses include specific steps on how to manage students who refuse to complete their work, are apathetic, and are disrespectful to teachers. These distance learning seminars show how to avoid school shootings, reduce bullying, improve attendance, enhance school performance, and build better punctuality. The classroom management strategies are drawn from instructor Ruth Herman Wells’ books, which include Behavior Change Handouts: Becoming a Prepared and Motivated Student, Education: Don’t Start the Millennium Without It, and The Best Answers for the Worst Behavior Problems book series.
Presenter Ruth Herman Wells, M.S. is a veteran trainer who has instructed thousands of teachers, counselors, and juvenile court workers throughout the U.S. and Canada. She is a featured columnist for SEEN Magazine, an adjunct professor, and the author of 24 books. Her unusual classroom posters were featured in the hit movie, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Teachers and other professionals can sample the methods for free at Youth Change’s award-winning web site, The Problem Kid Problem-Solver, http://www.youthchg.com. The website has been described as the internet's largest collection of problem-stopping strategies, books, posters, ebooks, podcasts, and downloads for teachers, youth workers, and social workers.
