Today sees the launch of "The Hungry Penguin" (hungrypenguin.net) a new Linux advocacy and news site.
(FPRC) Oct 13, 2005 -- Today sees the launch of "The Hungry Penguin" (http://www.hungrypenguin.net) a new Linux advocacy and news site. After many years of using Linux, Gary Sims, the founder and webmaster of "The Hungry Penguin", has decided to launch a web site to promote Linux and Open Source software.
"For many years I have been a Linux fan," said Gary at the Launch, "I have been using Linux as my main operating system for 3 years now and I think it is time that people understood the benefits of using Open Source."
The web site is a general resource for Linux users including news from around the Internet (using RSS), reviews and a new blog called "Linux and me" describing the hungry penguin's day to day use of Linux. “If people can see that Linux is VERY usable day to day, that will be a real win for Linux and Open Source.” said Gary.
Also there is information for the beginner including sections on "What is Linux?" and "What is Open Source?"
As the site grows there will be more reviews of software by the hungry penguin and news, reviews, case studies, HOWTOs and feature articles.
