Supplier Scan Launches Online Database Service

Supplier Scan has today launched its online database service giving buyers within the Utility industry direct access to suppliers for their specific products or services.

March 5, 2007 (FPRC) -- Supplier Scan is pleased to announce the launch of its new online database service giving buyers from all sectors of the Utility industry direct access to details of quality suppliers of products and services specific to their requirements. The database uses the EU’s preferred system of classification for public procurement, the Common Procurement Vocabulary (CPV), allowing buyers to search the database using a specific CPV Code or name, a product name (e.g. cables) or search for specific supplier’s using the company name.
This service will compliment the established online pro-active sourcing and evaluation service regularly requested and successfully supplied to numerous clients and aims to be the primary source of suppliers for buyers and vice-versa. Supplier Scan projects are used not only to locate and increase the client’s number of known quality suppliers for this specific service but also provided valuable market knowledge. The results are used to refine procurement strategies, further establish specific capabilities of suppliers and leverage competition for future contracts.
Allan Skyner, Managing Director, says “As a former buyer from the Utility industry I fully appreciate the need to locate quality suppliers to add competition with the aim of reducing costs, our online database and pro-active sourcing services address those needs.”
