KTGY Names Lalaine Tanaka as Principal to Lead Firm’s Hospitality Division

Lalaine Tanaka has joined KTGY GROUP, INC., Architecture and Planning, as principal in the company’s Irvine office. Tanaka will lead KTGY’s Hospitality division. With over 20 years of architectural design experience, Tanaka has been extensively involved with the direction and design of award-winning hospitality, commercial/mixed-use, and resort planning projects throughout the United States. Prior to joining KTGY, Tanaka served as design director for nine years at a major Orange County architectural firm where she was instrumental in developing the company’s acclaimed hospitality design studio and portfolio.

Some of Tanaka’s award-winning hotel and resort projects include: Hilton Grand Vacations Club Resort, a 2,717-room high-rise resort and spa in Las Vegas, NV; Hilton Kohala Suites Resort, a 120-villa fractional resort and 10,000-square-foot clubhouse in Waikoloa Beach, HI; Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas, 700-villa fractional resort in Newport Beach, CA; Marriott’s Shadow Ridge Resort, a 1,000-villa fractional resort and golf clubhouse in Palm Desert, CA; and Starwood’s Westin Hotel and Conference, 211-room hotel and 43,000-square-foot conference center in McKinney, TX.

Her mixed-use, retail, entertainment, office and residential clients include Brookfield Homes, CIM, Dillin Corporation, General Growth, Hopkins Real Estate Group, O&S Holdings and Vestar Development Co.

Tanaka will provide expertise in the oversight of hospitality, commercial/mixed-use, and resort planning projects throughout the United States as well as direct project leadership of major programs and projects.

Tanaka is a licensed architect in California and is a member of the Orange County Chapter of American Institute of Architects (AIA), Urban Land Institute (ULI), the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). She received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
