MOTOR EXPO 2008 Raising concept

Inter-Media Consultant Co., Ltd., organizer of “Motor Expo”, gave a Press Conference on the concept of the 25th Motor Expo that will be held towards the end of the year 2008, thereby joining hands with car companies and the public on a campaign for awareness of global warming problem.

January 28, 2008 (FPRC) -- Mr. Kwanchai Paphatphong, President of Inter-Media Consultant Co., Ltd. and Organizing Chairman of the “25th THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO 2008”, disclosed the backdrop of Motor Expo theme concept.

“As global warming, or rising average global surface temperature every year, is becoming the worst “crisis” that mankind has to face in the near future, the next 5 years or so from now will thus be an important transition period during which mankind has to care about the use of energy and adjust his lifestyle towards sufficiency to diminish upsetting Nature. Meanwhile, auto makers have to expedite their adoption of new technologies to meet the targets in reducing carbon dioxide emissions such as developing hybrid engines—both petrol and diesel, engines for CNG, biofuels or fuel cells”.

“In addition, auto makers need to take heed of other aspects that may aggravate global warming, for example by switching to “Green Plastics” to make interior auto parts to reduce using fossil fuels in the plastic production process, not to mention other modern fuel saving technology like intelligent engine turn off when the vehicle is stationary”.

Continued Mr. Kwanchai, “This is the “Obligation” of the human race and an important and challenging mission of world auto makers including the Thai automotive industry, whereupon the “25th Motor Expo” is prepared to play a part in the collaboration, by staging a show of new vehicle models developed to curtail global warming vigorously under the concept for the year 2008 of “Obligation of Mankind to Stop Global Warming”.

On the same day prior to announcing the concept of the 25th Motor Expo, prizes of honour were presented to car companies participating in the 24th Motor Expo as follows.

1. Prizes for companies with best design and decoration of booths.
- The winner is Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
- The runner-up is SL International Automobiles Co., Ltd.

2. Prize for company that can best express the concept “Future Vehicles Stun the World” tangibly is
- Hyundai Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

3. Prize for car with features best representing the slogan “Future Vehicles Stun the World” is
- Bugatti Veyron exhibited by S.E.C. Autosales and Services PLC.

4. Prizes for companies playing important roles in elevating the standard of motor show in Thailand by exhibiting prototype cars are
- Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
- Hyundai Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
- Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd.

The winner of votes for MOTOR EXPO SMART PRETTY 2007 is Miss Jatuporn Charoenjitr from Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
