My Global Safe Secures New Vc Funding Prior to Launch

My Global Safe, the provider of highly secure, off-site and backed up data storage services to the Insurance and Travel markets, has a secured a new round of funding ahead of its imminent commercial launch.

April 7, 2008 (FPRC) -- The funding from private investors Ian Powell and Francis Goodwin, the former management team at outdoor advertisers Maiden plc, followed a new share issue. Powell and Goodwin’s investment also sees Powell take over as Chairman.

My Global Safe offers its unique software through subscription based services and delivers a personalised electronic filing cabinet concept to make the back-up of individual documents and possessions easy. This guarantees straightforward access to any documents needed for an insurance claim, speeds up the processing of a claim, and strengthens customer loyalty and retention.

The service employs password protection and built in security features that include VeriSign, SSL and military level encryption. The data is stored in a very secure and high availability environment so that wherever the user is total access is achievable at any time.

Nick Charles, Managing Director at My Global Safe said, “The product development stage is complete and with this new injection of capital, we are now ready for our commercial launch. Ian Powell and Francis Goodwin have worked together for 20 years. Having been part of a three-man team that purchased Maiden Outdoor in 1993 they led the company to a full listing on the London Stock Exchange in 1996. During their 13 years at Maiden turnover increased from £21 million to over £100 million. The company was sold for £56 million to Titan Outdoor Inc in May 2006, following which Powell and Goodwin have invested in several projects in both media and other related sectors.
