Proscan launch New Service

Proscan Document Imaging Ltd launch book scanning service to compliment their range of other scanning services.

April 30, 2008 (FPRC) -- Thanks to our advanced book scanning service, historical books can now be made available to a world wide audience whilst at the same time eliminating any further degradation of such valuable documents.

Offering true-to-original archiving at resolutions up to 800dpi with further image processing options such as optical character recognition (OCR)giving a full word search facility throughout the document.

What is involved?

As with all of our services, we arrange to collect your books or bound documents from your offices before transporting them to our scanning facility in Southampton. Then, using the latest in book scanning technology they will be scanned using a self levelling cradle thereby eliminating unnecessary wear and tear on delicate bindings.

What Does It Cost?

The cost of scanning a book can vary quite considerably and is dependant on a number of factors. Consideration is given to the size and age of a book, whether a bi-tonal, grey scale or colour scan is required and at what resolution you require the images to be. If you would like an idea of price for a particular project then please contact us on 0845 658 9501

This new service compliments the line up of existing scanning services offered by Proscan. The company also offers the following scanning based services: conversion of microfilm to digital images, document scanning and large format scanning. All of these also have value added options such as full word search capability in pdf documents, OCR to Microsoft Word or Excel format.
