Woman Derailed Gets Back On Track With Green Business

Nearly two decades after being out of the workplace due to illness 57 year old Nadine Saubers announces the launch of her Use It Again Sam™ bag, a great looking and trendy reusable shopping and all purpose bag.

May 21, 2008 (FPRC) -- Nadine Saubers, a California native has been involved in art and design her entire life. At nine years old she was sewing designer outfits for her Barbie dolls and by the early 70's she sold her clothing designs in her own store, “Apache Plume.” She then put herself through nursing school by sewing custom clothing and marketing her art. But about eleven years after working as a pediatric trauma ICU nurse she had to stop working, she was just too sick.

“When I started Nadine Inc I hadn’t worked for over fifteen years and I wasn’t well enough to get a job but I really wanted to work and the clock was ticking really loudly. The “R” word (retirement) made me cringe and at the time I thought I saw the light at the end of the tunnel where I might actually be well some day.” Nadine suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Hepatitis C, two very misunderstood illnesses she says.

Nadine Inc started out as a research, marketing, and design business catering to writers and film producers. When she saw that there was a need for a great looking reusable bag the Sam bag idea was born. Nadine’s also invented a tool to be used with invisible braces, the OUTIE (patent pending) that’s in production now. “I’ve turned entrepreneurial!” she says. Nadine started her business on a shoestring doing everything herself from her business cards and website www.useitagainsam.com to everything it took to manufacture and import her products.

“I have a great desire to be a voice for women of all ages who have gotten derailed in their lives somehow and feel discouraged or even defeated. There are lots of reasons that women get off track but I want them to know that it’s never too late to have a rewarding life even if it means completely starting over. If you are in your forties or fifties you have an enormous body of skills and if you mix that with doing what you love to do you can have an incredible and fulfilling new chapter in your life. Whatever’s happened to you never stop believing and never stop dreaming!”

Nadine’s Sam bag is a great looking hip bag made from 100% polyester ripstop in eleven fabulous colors. For men and women alike they can be used for everything from shopping, errands, travel, kid’s toys, sports, and even uses like a book or diaper bag.

Sam bags are reusable and fashionable but also sustainable. According to Nadine, “Sure you can buy a 1$ bag at many of the larger chains, but those bags won’t hold up to continual day to day use, to washing, or to time and by using a reusable Sam bag you are making a difference every single day. Because they’re light, compact, washable, and fold into a pouch sewn into the inside seam they won’t end up as dust bunnies in the back of your closet either!”

Nadine grew up a war orphan and will be donating a portion of her proceeds to Operation Homefront. “I know what those families go through on a very deep level and I really want to help make a difference.”

Nadine Saubers is also the author of The Everything First Aid Book (Adams Media) released in February of this year and The Complete Idiots’ Guide to Fighting Fatigue to be released by Penguin in August 2008.
