Leaders Explain How 'Social Meets Gospel'Some of Christianity’s top leaders share their ideas about the balance between social action and evangelism in a new documentary film. September 6, 2008 (FPRC) -- One of the problems which Christian leaders are facing today is of finding the right balance between social outreaches and evangelism. Some are doing great activities for the community and the needy but leaving out obedience to the Great Commission of Jesus Christ to preach the Gospel in all nations. Others are so 'heavenly minded' they are of no 'earthly good.' Harvest Fields Commissioning International and its film and TV production arm, OLI Productions, have just released their 50th documentary film addressing this issue in 'Social Meets Gospel'. This 28 minute features input from 12 of Christianity’s top leaders, authors and evangelists including New York Times best-selling author Joyce Meyer, British pop singer Yazz, pastor of Africa’s largest church Dr. William Kumuyi, Pastor Paul Scanlon of Abundant Life Church, Bradford (one of Britain’s most economically disadvantaged areas), Argentinean evangelist Luis Palau, Greek Cypriot evangelist J. John and best-selling author and 'God’s Smuggler' Brother Andrew, who often visits the training camps of the Taliban, Al-Qaeda and Hezbollah bringing humanitarian aid and Bibles. Each of the guests in the film / TV series has had experience in reaching millions of people through their meetings, books and TV broadcasts and also see the need for helping to alleviate the physical needs of people around the world. Joyce Meyer, for example, currently feeding tens of thousands around the world, has a goal of feeding 1 million people a day. Keywords: poverty, social action, evangelism You can read this press release online at: http://www.free-press-release-center.info/pr00000000000000021086.html |
