Songs for Soldiers is a 3-hr. musical event incorporating live music and clips from a video documentary of the group Lugo Latin Soul on tour in the Middle East.

September 20, 2008 (FPRC) -- Back from entertaining the troops in Afghanistan and the middle east, Nuyorican Vocalist and Songwriter, Nephew of Roberto Clemente Lugo garnered numerous Awards and certificates of achievement like the prestigious the NATO Award and a Grammy certificate as Songwriter and Vocalist on the Norman Brown Album 'Just Chillin'. New York based Latin RnB Vocalist and Songwriter Lugo is the Nephew of American Philanthropist, Baseball Legend and Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente Walker. Lugo worked with legendary Paul Simon on Broadway in 'The Capeman' along with Multiple Grammy Award Winners Marc Anthony and Ruben Blades. Lugo Performed on National TV appearing in Springtime in Havana Electro Acoustic Music Festival, CUBA, Percussionist on MTV's VMA's live at Radio City Music Hall with Grammy Award Winner Christina Aguilera, Apollo Theater winner. Lugo is a prolific Composer for such films and television as the Jay-Z film 'State Property' Lions gate films for the BBC and MTV's Hit Reality TV show 'Made'.

Project Description
Songs for Soldiers is a performance piece who's purpose is to inform and expose life as it is for Americans abroad in places too difficult to explain. The piece will involve, provoke and engage the audience with dance and participation. Members of the group will reenact our wondrous and most horrific moments in the desert. From getting arrested in a Muslim country, flying cargo with 5 American dead soldier casualties in caskets, extortion to smelling the Afghani rose and wild poppy and finally playing great music for the best audience in the world (the troops).

Detail
The public component of Songs for Soldiers will be held either at the Nuyorican poets cafe or at the Saint Marks Church. Both serve the lover east side and the Bowery. the audience will be an average 18-65 in age and mostly NYC community residents.

Promote
Songs for Soldiers will be publicized and promoted in BLOGS, Google adds words, its own website, email campaign, Myspace and Face-book evites and sites, flyers with small adds in local newspapers. A guest appearance on public access TV 'The Barry Z show'.

1-Songs for Soldiers DVD contains uncut footage and photos of real shows and real events some of which will be incorporated in the show.
