PowerDIFF Oracle Compare Wizard

A new Oracle compare wizard, PowerDIFF for Oracle, has been released. It is a powerful schema comparison tool with both visual and (optional) script output - combined with a database browser and SQL editing tool. The tool performs almost every conceivable compare task excellently.

May 20, 2009 (FPRC) -- A new comparison tool for Oracle databases has been released - PowerDIFF for Oracle. It is a visual schema comparison tool - with optional script output - and also allows diff-and-merge operations. By its high number of customization options, the tool performs almost every conceivable compare and diff-and-merge task excellently. Complete schemas, parts of schemas or individual database objects can be selected and compared to each other. Both structural and data comparisons are possible, including the comparison of:
- Structure of Tables - columns, constraints and defaults
- Data of Tables - with WHEREs and almost all data types
- Indexes - columns, types
- Constraints - PK, FK and check constraints
- Views - source code and data
- Procedures, Functions - source code and status
- Trigger - columns, source code and status
- User, Roles, Privileges - data
- Database instance parameter - data
- Metadata (storage/size parameter, cache flag...).

PowerDIFF is a database tool that allows to analyze logical subsets of databases and their differences before the decision to synchronize them (by script) is made, an approach which is often superior to the fully automatic sync mechanism provided by other tools. Thus the user - and not the tool - controls the synchronization process.
Not only database comparisons are possible. PowerDIFF is a combination of a highly flexible database comparison tool (read-only mode), for both structural and data comparisons, a database object browser with powerful scripting options (read-only mode) and a powerful SQL command line tool based on the well-known SQL*Plus for Oracle.
PowerDIFF for Oracle assists you by executing verification, differencing, merging, transportation, migration, quality assurance and other database administration tasks - and thus helps you save a lot of time in the maintenance of databases and database applications.

The tool is available in two editions, the Standard and the Professional Edition. Prices range from 290 to 490 EUR (per user). A free Demo Edition is available, too.
