Los Angeles Welcomes Green Affordable Senior Housing
Dana Strand Senior Housing represents the third phase of the redevelopment of Dana Strand Village, the former public housing site. It provides 100 one-bedroom senior apartments that are affordable to house seniors with annual incomes at or below 30% of the Los Angeles County Area Median Income. The development, designed by award-winning architectural firm KTGY Group, Inc., consists of three stories of high-quality construction with 82 parking spaces, all of which are built on grade, and afford easy access to highways 110 and 710. Project amenities include a computer center, a community room and energy-efficient appliances along with a wide array of resident services, including computer classes, ESL classes, and resident events. Dana Strand is designed to USGBC’s LEED Silver specification.
KTGY Celebrates 20th Anniversary By Volunteering At Blind Children’s Learning Center This Past Weekend
Volunteers from Orange County-based KTGY Group, Inc. Architecture and Planning wielded paint brushes, cleaned toys, trimmed hedges and did other assorted tasks this past Saturday at the Blind Children's Learning Center in Santa Ana, Calif. The volunteer project was undertaken to mark the award-winning firm’s 20th anniversary. More than 80 employees and family members participated in the beautification effort.
Michaels Development, LINC Housing Break Ground on Red Star Apartments
The Michaels Development Company and LINC Housing Corporation recently celebrated the ground breaking of a new mixed-use, transit-oriented affordable housing community in Oakland, Calif. Designed by KTGY Group, Red Star Apartments will offer affordable one- and two-bedroom apartment homes to income-eligible seniors. It is being built on the former site of the Red Star yeast factory and is expected to generate hundreds of high quality jobs for local residents and businesses.
KTGY-Designed Quality Workforce Housing in Escondido Celebrates Grand Opening
The Crossings at Escondido recently celebrated its grand opening. Developed by Urban Housing Communities (UHC) LLC, a leading developer of quality multifamily residential projects, and designed by KTGY, The Crossings at Escondido provides eco-friendly, high-quality workforce housing to families earning between 30% and 60% of the area median income. The Crossings at Escondido offers 55 thoughtfully-planned apartment homes ranging in size from two- to four-bedroom units. Rent ranges from $508 to $1,063 per month based on family size and income level.
KTGY-designed $29 Million Mixed-use Senior Housing Development Planned in Downtown Portland
KTGY announced it is providing architectural design services for a new $29 million pedestrian-oriented 132-unit mixed-use senior housing community situated near downtown Portland, Oregon. Intended for LEED Gold certification and developed by the Foursquare Foundation, the project is slated to commence construction in the spring of 2012 and be completed in approximately 18 months. The new community will help mitigate the soaring demand for quality affordable housing to active seniors 62 years of age and over.
KTGY-designed 332-Bed Student Housing Development Under Construction
Construction has commenced on a new 332-bed student housing community at the University of Wyoming (UW) in Laramie. The new development features 84 apartments, which consist mostly of 4 bedrooms and 3 baths in primarily a townhouse-neighborhood with some flats near the community center, and a 4,000-square-foot community center combined with maintenance facilities.
KTGY-designed Mixed-use Student Housing Development Planned at WesternU in Pomona
KTGY Group is providing architectural design services for a new 183,000 sq. ft. mixed-use student housing building to be developed by Irvine-based Hanover Pacific, LLC at the Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU) in Pomona, Calif. Designed to LEED Silver specifications, the 3.3-acre project is a public/private partnership with the city's Redevelopment Agency, Vehicle Parking District, and Hanover Pacific, along with the support of Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU).

La Floresta is a multi-generational, mixed-use community that offers new housing opportunities, jobs and amenities on a prominent urban infill site in north Orange County. The meeting will be held at the Irvine Ranch Water District's Duck Club meeting room.
