November 6, 2012 (FPRC) -- Summer is finished and with it the fast paced season for residential home relocating comes to a end. However rather than eliminating working hours for laborers, Sacramento Moving Company has hired on two new movers. The company had a busier-than-ever October with their team staying completely utilized on non-peak move times. The added crew members may open up availability permitting the company to schedule more moves at peak moving periods such as the weekends and the beginning and end of the month, instead of turning away customers who want to move with the company but cannot owing to a full schedule of moves.
Sacramento Movers’ newest workers both came from American River College in Sacramento. Dave had studied psychology there just before getting a position as a mover. He said he is excited to be in a position where he can “help people.” In his spare time, Dave enjoys poetry as a leisure activity. The second fresh face at Sacramento Moving Company is Phil. Prior to finding a position as a mover Phil studied professional audio engineering at American River College. A true musician at heart, Phil usually spends his free time playing electric guitar. He decided to get a job as a mover because he needed a legitimate, full time job, which would be hard to find in the field of audio engineering.
Training for the new movers started on November sixth with a morning of viewing informative training videos. One of Sacramento Moving Company’s key trainers, Michael, lead the new workers through the training day including reviewing the training manual that all the company’s workers must know before going out on a job. The afternoon was filled with hands on training in the company’s warehouse, where the new staff members learned how to accurately pad and stretch wrap all home furniture items and cautiously load them on the truck. One thing that sets Sacramento Movers apart from other moving companies is the fact that each new hire spends extensive time in the warehouse learning and practicing how to properly protect both the customer’s belongings and the home.
