March 2, 2013 (FPRC) -- After Years of Struggle, Teesside Graduate Rob Goforth is Turning His Life Around by Using His Design Skills to Create T-shirts for Geeks and Nerds Around the World.
'I've always dreamed of being able to use the skills I picked up at Teesside Uni, skills I'd not really felt able to put into practice before,' says Rob. 'I'm so grateful to the team at Local Solutions and at Enterprise Revolution for opening my eyes to this opportunity.'
With shirts dedicated to a diverse number of topics ranging from the troubles of technical support through to parodies of My Little Pony, lairofthenerd.com launched online last week, and Rob plans to take his store mobile and offer shirts at conventions and similar nerdy events through the coming months. 'With the success of things like The Big Bang Theory there's never been a better time for nerdy shirts really,' adds Rob. 'One thing I really love is being able to put a new twist on something and come out with a design that hasn't been done before.'
Rob also plans to grow and develop the idea of Lair of the Nerd in the future: 'I'm just blown away by the way social media and online video has blossomed over the last few years, and I have big ideas for producing animations, books, and so on – really building up a community.'
Lair of the Nerd (lairofthenerd.com) was founded in 2013 to provide a great place for 'nerds', selling unique things for the nerd community including t-shirts and hoodies.
