April 3, 2013 (FPRC) -- New York, N.Y. - New York City custom suit maker, Alan David Custom, has announced that their new factory in Long Island City, N.Y. is at full operational status. The LIC factory is a 15,000 square ft. fully equipped facility that will now better service their midtown Manhattan showroom in creating the finest quality custom made suits and bespoke suits for every individual client.

Before the purchase of the new factory location, each Alan David Custom suit was created in their production facility in Canada. While arrangement worked well for several years, the new production facility close to their home base in Midtown now offers a superior advantage that many clothing manufacturers can't match. Perhaps the most significant of these advantages is in their use of basted fittings, which is a technique using temporary sewing on a suit to allow for additional fittings to get an exact fit for the final garment.

"No tailored suit that we create at Alan David Custom is ever outsourced. Now, everything is made in our New York City facilities," Alan Horowitz, owner of Alan David Custom, said. "Owning our factory makes it possible for us to better control costs, maintain our competitive prices and to use the finest custom tailoring techniques to ensure the best fit and highest quality suit of clothing for every client we serve."

Long known as a superior maker of hand-tailored clothing, Alan David Custom never makes made-to-measure or ready-to-wear suits. Each starts with paying special attention to a unique pattern and then careful drafting of a client's special order. "Our new facility in Long Island City helps immeasurably in our primary goal of ensuring that every Alan David Custom suit is made to the highest possible standards," said Mr. Horowitz.

As owner of the family business, Mr. Horowitz carries on a strong tradition in the NYC retail apparel industry that began with his grandfather Moe Ginsburg, in 1926. Working for years during the summer and winter breaks to learn the business in his grandfather's stores. After working in the accounting business for a short time, Alan returned to the family business fulltime in 1992. For several years now, Alan David Custom has cultivated a strong reputation for expertly tailored suits. The newly purchased factory in Long Island City showcases their dedication to creating only the finest men's clothing.
