New York, NY (May 24, 2013) - As the federal government makes strides to increase efficiency while lowering costs, The Institute of Defense & Government Advancement (IDGA) announces IT Legacy Modernization for Government taking place August 19-21, 2013 in Washington, DC addressing the latest initiatives and opportunities for transforming IT systems and software across the federal government.

Following the Federal IT Acquisition Reform Act passed on March 20th, 2013, CIOs within the government find themselves with more purchasing power than ever. With that newfound power and the mandates to increase efficiency, they’re seeking the assistance of experts within the industry for answers regarding prioritizing which IT systems to upgrade first, upgrading systems without interrupting daily activity, and how to utilize open source systems that they are now able to procure for the first time following the bill.

IT Legacy Modernization for Government will feature a pre-summit Public-Private Partnership Focus Day followed by two Main Summit Days. Speakers will include: Simon Szykman, CIO, Department of Commerce; Charles McClam, Deputy CIO, Department of Agriculture; Rick Lauderdale, Chief Enterprise Architect, Department of Energy; among others. You can see the full speaker line up by viewing the IT Legacy Modernization for Government Brochure at www.ITLegacyModernization.com.

The summit offers various levels of sponsorship opportunities for experts within the private sector to share their knowledge and solutions with the high level audience of federal government CIOs, Chief Enterprise Architects, Directors of Modernization, Directors of IT, etc., as they seek assistance to make these upgrades.
