Sprocket Creative Announces TCM Collaboration on 360-degree Web Series for “Noir Alley”

Atlanta-based creative agency partners with TCM to produce webseries.

November 5, 2017 (FPRC) -- In a disruptive break from your average animated narrative, Turner Classic Movies (TCM) has taken film noir to the next level by partnering with Sprocket Creative to create 360-degree episodes of original content for hit programming slot “Noir Alley.” This is a revolutionary way to leverage the 360-degree format, positioning Sprocket Creative as the industry leader in bringing noir to a new, immersive experience via a transmedia concept, in which 360 video is just one asset. The goal of the project is to drive engagement through a virtually unexplored medium for the noir genre, and to create a delightfully engaging, user-centric viewing experience. Sprocket Creative implemented a strategy that included aspects of the whole story across social channels, the web, and physical merchandise, ensuring that viewers would retain the full experience by being able to follow the story completely - and in order to do this, fans will need to be engaged on social media and by watching the 360 series.

For Sprocket Creative, a well-known Atlanta-based entity in the world of animation, motion graphics, broadcast design, and content creation (the list goes on and on, really), this partnership signifies a groundbreaking venture that virtually shakes up the world of experiential marketing and gamified animation as we know it. The seven-episode series will utilize 360-degree technology for viewers to have a fully immersive experience on their desktops, smartphones, VR gear, and/or tablet devices. Additionally, novice gumshoes can print posters and clue worksheets and find additional clues on social media.

“I’m an avid comic reader and collector and have recently become a film noir fanatic,” states Sprocket Creative’s Partner and Creative Director Dean Velez. “This was an opportunity to put the two things I love together in a new space.”

Super sleuths can hone their detective skills by tuning into the November 5th premiere on the TCM website as well as the Noir Alley Facebook page. Viewers can follow along for the next seven weeks and see if they can solve the case!
