Awards presented will include: Lucie Honorees, IPA prizes, Support Category Awards, and the APA/Lucie Foundation Scholarship Prize in the amount of $5,000 to a professional to further advance a personal project.

Winners of the International Photography Awards (IPA) will receive recognition at the 11th Annual Lucie Awards, and a Lucie statue, and cash prizes. The IPA will give $22,500 in cash prizes to winners of its annual competition including $10,000 for the International Photographer of the Year Award provided by AtEdge, $5,000 prize for the Discovery of the Year Award, and $5,000 to the Deeper Perspective Photographer of the Year, provided by ASMP, in addition to the new Moving Images Photographer of the Year $2,500 award. Winning work will also be displayed in the annual Best of Show exhibition, which will debut during the Lucie Weekend, and then travel internationally.

Each year, the Lucie Awards recognize master photographers who have made a significant and lasting contribution to photography. The 2013 honorees who will join the distinguished group of 93 prior honorees are:

Lisa Kristine – Humanitarian Award
Arno Rafael Minkkinen – Achievement in Fine Art
Victor Skrebneski – Achievement in Fashion
Benedikt Taschen – Visionary Award
John H. White – Achievement in Photojournalism
Li Zhensheng - Achievement in Documentary.

The Lucie Awards are the culmination of a weekend of events leading up to the big night including the IPA’s Best of Show exhibition and party and the Lucie Lectures. The Lucie Awards are presented in partnership with PDN, Splashlight, AtEdge, Phase One, APA and ASMP.

Support Category nominees will be announced shortly after voting closes on September 27. The Lucies will recognize those in the creative community who are integral in crafting an image in the following categories: Print Advertising Campaign of the Year, Fashion Layout of the Year, Photography Magazine of the Year, Book Publisher of the Year, Exhibition/Curator of the Year and Picture Editor of the Year.
A Special Tribute to photographers who have passed away in late 2012 and 2013 will be showcased along with video compilations.

The Lucie Awards, produced by the Lucie Foundation (a non-profit charitable foundation), honor the achievements of the world’s most accomplished photographers, discover and cultivate emerging talent through mentoring and scholarship programs, and promote the appreciation of photography worldwide.

Hossein Farmani, founder of The Lucie Awards remarked, “On the heels of last year’s successful Lucies in Beverly Hills, we are thrilled to be returning to New York City and for the very first time in our 11 year history, to the distinguished Carnegie Hall. We look forward to celebrating the greats alongside the talented new arrivals on the photography scene and as always, to renewing friendships, on photography’s special night.”
Cat Jimenez, Executive Director of the Lucie Foundation commented, “As the Lucie Foundation matures, we can begin to acknowledge those photographers who have received less attention than others in the annals of photography. We are also able to honor those that were the first to achieve a mark of significance, such as Eli Reed (2011), the first African-American Magnum photographer. We witness the ever-changing landscape, where even the very term "photographer" continues to evolve, as does the job performed. It grows ever more important to pay special tribute to the likes of 2013 Honoree and Pulitzer Prize winner John H. White and the others who leave an indelible contribution through their devotion to the craft.”
Tickets for The Lucie Awards are on sale on August 29, 2013, at www.lucies.org
