Spiney The Unwanted Christmas Tree
Spiney was written about trees that were not perfect and were never chosen to be someone's centerpiece for the Christmas holidays.
December 15, 2016 (FPRC) -- Sardis City and Opelika, AL - Lighthouse Coastal Productions and Lighthouse News Bureau in conjunction with Author Wayne McLendon is pleased to announce that his new book, Spiney: The Unwanted Christmas Tree is now available thru Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and the books website – www.spiney.net.
Wayne McLendon, owner of Mac’s Fish Farm in Opelika, AL for over 45 years, graduated from Auburn University in fisheries in December of 1969. Wayne wrote the book, Spiney: The Unwanted Christmas Tree, for his grandchildren on a trip hauling fish from Auburn, AL to Lake Village, AR. I wanted them to realize that Christmas trees do not always come from a tree farm or a tree lot. Finding the perfect tree was always a special event for me, my brother, sister and dad. “Spiney was written about trees that were not perfect and were never chosen to be someone's centerpiece for the Christmas holidays”.
Spiney: The Unwanted Christmas Tree - ISBN# 9781504910460 by Wayne McLendon, Author and James Hammond, Graphic Artist, is published by AuthorHouse - “This was Spiney’s Christmas. He was almost eleven feet tall and much bigger than the other trees. He began getting ready weeks before Thanksgiving. He would shake his branches to remove all of the dead nettle and old bird nests that had been used in the spring. Spiney still let the birds perch in his branches. He really liked that because they were his friends”.
