November 20, 2007 (FPRC) -- Santa Fe, New Mexico, Marsala Studio’s Terri Marsala, a new arrival on Santa Fe’s art scene, will open on November 23, 2007. The studio is located at 101 West Marcy Street, Suite 205D in Santa Fe, New Mexico, just a block north of the Plaza. The day after opening, on November 24 the artist will donate a piece of art work to the AID and COMFORT Auction. According to Marsala, “I believe strongly in the need for artists to participate in Aid and Comfort Art Auction which raises private funds for those living with HIV/AIDS.” This is the auction’s 19th year and it is still going strong. The event will be held on Saturday November 24 at the Eldorado Hotel in Santa Fe, NM.

Like many professional artists and gallery owners in Santa Fe, she feels deep sense of community responsibility. This commitment has led to her continued participation in other programs such as the Art Tours whose goal is to increase funding and overall health of public school youth art programs. Marsala also intends to donate her time and expertise to target disadvantaged youth who are at risk in the community. She is also a teacher whose comprehensive Saturday workshops help children learn and discover their unique gifts.

Marsala’s work has been shown in galleries and museums throughout the United States. It is both a playful and colourful oeuvre with its own signature style, a unique voice that is improvisational and formal with a beauty that is unfamiliar, reflected with real quality and power across diverse media including Ceramic Sculpture, Painting, Aquarelle, Pastels, Prints and Collage. She studied painting with Polish Artist, Voy Fangor, and Sculpture with the late Nancy Graves.

Although Marsala is a prolific, independent artist, she follows no trends but originality itself which keeps her art fresh and free yet classic with a sense of history that avoids the derivative. She believes that “Art is less a competition than an exploration of a unique temperament.” We strongly recommend a visit to her Studio to anyone who wants to see what is new and exciting on the Santa Fe art scene.
