June 27, 2011 (FPRC) -- Online sports nutrition and supplement store, eNutriments.com, has become an authorized retailer within the Select Nutrition distribution channel. The change gives eNutriments access to 14,000 products in addition to their existing catalog of over 1,000 sports nutrition and health products. The new products are due to make their way into the online store and become available worldwide within the coming months. Shipping rates are said to remain free within continental USA.
While there are dominant brands in the supplement industry, variety is still very important. Consumers may be motivated by a number of variables including price, quality, allergies, expected results, convenience, and more. According to eNutriments representative, Bob Briggs, the expansion is intended to offer more choice to the consumer and fill the specific needs of shrewd shoppers. The new addition will bring in roughly 500 brands and is expected to increase overall sales volumes while providing a better shopping experience.
An increase in sales volume could also bring prices down across the board and open up competition for smaller brands. It will be interesting to see how consumers respond to the influx of smaller brands through the product review feature on the eNutriments website. The review feature is set up in such a way that the website favors brands and products with good consumer feedback. This should ensure that powerful brands such as Optimum Nutrition don't soak up all the exposure while also empowering the user. Only time will tell which brands will win the battle for consumer votes.
