LOS ANGELES, CA, October 1, 2012 (FPRC) -- Late summer to early fall is pest season in Southern California. To help homeowners identify the most common pest and insect issues in Los Angeles and surrounding areas, Ronin Pest Control has created a free online tool, the Los Angeles Pest Library, that explains what to look for.

'At this time of year, an abundance of pests start to invade homes,' says Osvany Cepero, owner of Los Angeles-based Ronin Pest Control. 'Our Los Angeles Pest Control library, available on our website, shows residents the most common pests and what habitats they seek out in order to help them identify and eliminate areas that may lead to infestation.'

Ronin Pest Controlís Pest Library, available at http://www.roninpestcontrol.com/pest-library/, provides helpful tips on how to control ants, termites and 21 other pests. 'Ants are little but come by the thousands, and they can find the smallest crumb,' says Cepero. 'When one ant finds food the others will follow.' To protect against ants:

* Control any source of food items left out.
* If ants are found, treat the entire property.
* Ants can repopulate quickly, so setting up a continuous schedule for treatment is best.

Termites are harder to detect, Cepero says, but if you donít catch them early, the treatment and repairs can be very costly. Signs of termites include:

* A thin brown film on wood surfaces
* Wings that look like small fish scales on woodís surface.

If you see wings that look like small fish scales, this could be a sign that your home might be infested. Look at the inside and outside wood of your home. Use a screwdriver to tap the wood. If it sounds hollow or if the screwdriver goes into the wood, you should call our experts.'

If consumers do detect termites or other pests, Ronin Pest Control can help. Currently, the company is offering a coupon good for $50 off a termite treatment plan or other pest services. 'We are a family-owned company, and offer many other services that are hard to find, such as the removal of dead animals and nests,' says Cepero.

Ronin Pest Control has expert knowledge of all the pests that can invade your home.
