Original Idea for Company Christmas Lunches or Dinners
The Japanese restaurant Nagoya of Madrid has come up with a novel idea for company lunches this Christmas. It is offering three set menus for groups including the typical sushi, maki rolls and sashimi, but also dishes for meat lovers and vegetarians.

November 17, 2012 (FPRC) -- Nagoya has come up with a novel proposal for the Christmas lunches and dinners typical of this time of the year for its two restaurants in Madrid. It is offering three different set menus, for groups of 4 people or more, with authentic Japanese cooking in cozy, family surroundings. As well as the typical sushi, maki rolls and sashimi, the menus include options for meat lovers and for vegetarians, at prices that range from 27.50€ to 37.50€ per person. The set Christmas menus are available from 15 November 2012 to 15 January 2013.
Today Japanese cooking is very much in fashion in Madrid, as it is in the rest of the world. So it is surprising that up to now there have been so few groups holding their Christmas lunches or dinners in Japanese restaurants, at least in Madrid. The owners of the Nagoya restaurants came to the conclusion that there are still many people who are not familiar with the true variety and depth of traditional Japanese dishes. They tend to identify Japanese cooking solely with its best known dishes, such as sushi and sashimi. To provide these people with a perfect excuse to get to know Japanese cuisine for the first time – in groups of friends or in a company lunch or dinner – the Nagoya restaurants are offering three Christmas set menus suited to all tastes.
On the one hand, all of the menus come with the option of trying one of the typical dishes that have made Nagoya so famous: sushi, sashimi or maki rolls. On the other hand, each menu offers at least one alternative for meat lovers and another one for vegetarians.
Those who like eating meat, for example, can enjoy a kamo teriyaki (grilled duck with broccoli), a tori no karaage (japanese-style fried chicken), or a saikoro (Japanese-style grilled beef sirloin). Vegetarians can enjoy the typical yasai tempura (mixed vegetable tempura) and yasai chahan (fired rice with vegetables).
In all cases the menus include a selection of starters to share, a main dish and accompaniment, a dessert (chosen from Nagoya’s eight most popular desserts), and a drink. Nagoya is one of the classic Japanese restaurants in Madrid, and opened its doors in Calle Trafalgar 7 in 1999. In 2005 it opened its second restaurant in Calle Clara del Rey 44. The furnishings, lighting and decoration aim to recreate the atmosphere of a traditional small restaurant in any Japanese town.
