Celina Tent to add 12 full time manufacturing positions to support contract to produce disaster relief shelters.

--

Celina Tent, Inc. - a rapidly growing manufacturer of tents for the US Federal government - has been awarded a new contract to manufacture Humanitarian General Purpose Tent Systems (HGPTS) for FEMA. Company official Jeff Grieshop stated, "We are excited to receive repeat orders for this US-made tent that supports worldwide humanitarian efforts. It speaks highly to the quality of the tent and the quality of the people producing it." Twelve full time jobs are expected to be added to support this contract.

Celina Tent has been supporting FEMA and Department of Defense (DoD) projects by producing the HGPTS since 2006; since that time, Celina Tent has produced nearly 5,000 of these tents. Celina's General Purpose / Humanitarian Shelter is a non-tactical shelter designed to offer an economical solution for humanitarian aid in the event of a natural disaster or conflict worldwide. This 16' x 16' tent is designed to be easily deployed and can be used as a medical facility, billeting tent, field services station, or storage area. It is large enough to shelter entire families who have been displaced.

During the 2009 Tsunami in American Samoa, the shelters were deployed and used as intermediate sheltering on individuals' properties prior to FEMA beginning work on permanent housing construction. Recipients praised the strength and size of the HGPTS.

In 2014, Global Medic of Canada deployed several HGPTS to Liberia and Sierra Leone during the Ebola crisis. Once installed, they were used as isolation tents to help triage and separate Ebola patients.

Global Medic again used disaster relief shelters in Nepal after devastating earthquakes hit the country in 2015. The Grande International Hospital in Kathmandu used the 40 tents to replace damaged clinics, medical facilities, and schools.

About Celina Tent: As the leading manufacturer of Berry Compliant and Buy American Compliant fabric products, Celina's customer base is comprised of major OEM's who use the Ohio facility to private label manufacture textile products. Celina's 90,000 square foot manufacturing facility contains state-of-the-art textile manufacturing equipment and highly skilled manufacturing technicians to produce party & event tents, military tents, and decontamination systems.
